337–361
Reign of Emperor Constantius II.
After the death of Constantine I (the Great) his sons governed the Roman Empire, but their jealousy resulted in new war conflicts, which finally ended with the sole power of Constantius II in 350. During his reign the internal conflicts among the Sarmatians living on the Great Plain led to the war between Romans and Sarmatians, but finally their alliance was concluded with the Romans (358-359).
