Exhibitions in the House of Parliament
After some 40 years in isolation, only with its arrival in Hungary did the opportunity present itself for the public to admire freely this unique assemblage of the late imperial period.
The Hungarian state provided that possibility at an exhibition, which could be visited free of charge, in the House of Parliament in 2014 for the first time and in 2017 on the second occasion.
At the exhibition held by the Museum of Fine Arts in 2014 the seven silver vessels and the copper cauldron used for their concealment, which returned to Hungary at the time, were displayed, while all the presently known 14 silver vessels, including the newly repatriated silver objects, were presented at the joint exhibition of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Hungarian National Museum in 2017. The Seuso treasure was earlier presented exclusively to a narrow circle of invited guests and even then only on two occasions. Both private presentations were held at the time the vessels were offered for sale, first in New York in February 1990 and for the second time in London in October 2006.
