54 B.C. – 9 A.D.
The Conquest of Pannonia
The later territory of Pannonia was conquered by Augustus and his military leader Tiberius (the future emperor) in several stages. At that time the Roman Empire extended only its political control to a significant part of the province. The organisation of the administratively separate province can be connected to Emperor Tiberius (14-37) or Claudius (41-54) at the latest.
